With a blog entitled Tempo Free Recruiting, perhaps some expectation setting is in order. We haven't yet been able to create a hybrid of Ken Pomeroy and Alex Kline. Nor have we derived a meaningful recruting efficiency metric from the ratio of commitments to outstanding scholarship offers yet. You're probably asking yourself, if you can't do that, why are you launching a blog then?
Great question, we couldn't have asked it better ourselves. Mostly we're launching this blog to discuss things that may take longer than 140 characters to get across. As Yogi Berra once said, "Predictions are hard to make, particularly about the future." So rather than tell you all the types of stories we're going to run, we'll just write them, and let you read them.
Having said that, there is one thing you can rest assured you won't see in our blog, and that is
good writing speculation on where a recruit will attend school. We recognize this means we'll never be as popular as the Bleacher Report. On the flip side though, we know we won't be the ones at the party talking about our fantasy team. We are going for more of a Zag's Blog type of thing here.
On a personal note, I'm thrilled to launch Tempo Free Recruiting, and I can't wait to see what our amazing team comes up with. They'll be doing the bulk of the writing on the blog. You'll probably see posts by me from time to time, so those of you who suffer from insomnia need not worry. As for those of you suffer from narcolepsy, well you probably didn't make it out of the first paragraph.
